The relaxed atmosphere of this setting in New Mexico resulted in getting some amazing images of this kindhearted model who traveled over 3 hours to meet me. The summer months in Northern New Mexico have the perfect temperatures so everyone feels comfortable on either side of the camera. I love this area to shoot because there is so much greenery and a perfect amount of shade to work around and get that perfect shot.
Anita and I got so many frames of her in the tall grasses among the tall pines and Aspens. Lighting was a little tricky because we started shooting at high noon. We managed to work around the light and took advantage of the sun and shaded areas.
The sounds of the rushing water next to us from the small river was refreshing and inspiring. New Mexico in the wild is a beautiful place both scenically and soulfully. A perfect setting for our photo shoot that day!
Anita and I got many beautiful shots in and around the river next to us. Such a great spot. We saw some fishermen and women enjoying the abundance of fish this river has to offer. I heard bear frequent this area although we were not lucky enough to see any this day. Maybe that was a good thing....
Taking the very scenic drive back into the town of Taos was less than 30 miles away. We continued our photo shoot around the grounds of the splendid hotel she stayed in. The hotel was really spectacular with traditional southwest decor and design. The interior grounds had a beautiful rose garden we took advantage of and by the time we got to the hotel the light was idea for additional portraits.
I must say the staff at the El Monte Sagrado in Taos are exceptional, very helpful and go beyond the norm to please their guests. The grounds were impeccable and hotel was very pleasing to the eye everywhere you looked.
Thank you to Anita again for the great shoot. We got more amazing shots than I could have hoped for. I love working with models that are as wonderful as her! Taos, New Mexico is a favorite place of mine to shoot in and around. I will be back soon and look forward to photographing the lovely mountains, sunsets and unique adobe architecture and structures.
